Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is currently paid at the rate of 3% for UK Tax payers purchasing land or property in the UK for a consideration of above £250k up to £500k, and 4% for purchases of above £500k. In April the SDLT rate for properties over one million pounds was increased to 5%.
